23 weeks pregnant

I forgot another milestone...

- week 20 I started taking my vitamins again!!
Things are looking up! Here are some milestones (and the weeks are according to MY calendar, not the doctor):

- week 23, my nesting instict kicked in! I spent the last few days cleaning, organizing, filing, etc.
- week 17/18 I really started feeling better from the morning sickness. The last time I barfed was in Seaside the previous week.
- week 19ish was when I first felt her moving around in my belly. It was like a little poke. At first it was not very often, but as the weeks go on it's all the time! I'm at week 23 now, and I feel her all day long. Especially at night when I'm laying on the recliner. Or after I get out of the hot tub.
- week 22 was when I started "showing". I guess I was showing a few weeks before then, but I really started bumping out around 22. My belly button is getting more and more shallow...maybe in the next few weeks it will start sticking out!!!!

9.2 weeks pregnant

Well...things still aren't going so well. BUT I think they are a bit better than the last 2 weeks. Mornings and evenings are the toughest for me...lots of nausea. Taking a shower and getting ready in the morning is a 2 hour ordeal. I have to keep stopping and laying down on my bed. So far, the hardest part is brushing my teeth. As even though I'm the teeth-brushing Nazi (just ask my husband), there have been a few nights when I go to bed without brushing.

I have stopped taking my vitamins for about 2 weeks now, because they are not helping the nausea AT ALL. Doc says it's fine, and hopefully I'll feel better in a few weeks and start the vitamins again.

Jason and I took a trip to Hunterdon Medical yesterday to see how long it would take door-to-door. We were surprised that it only took about 30 minutes. Now we have to do the tour, and then we'll decide once and for all where Little Worm will be born.

The good news is, I'm not totally out of commission. I do get up and go to work when I have to, I haven't had to call out sick yet, and I even am ok for small outings.

Jason has been a God-send. He's picking up the slack on things that I just can't do (because just the thought of them make me sick) like loading the dishwasher, emptying out the leftovers in the fridge, and running downstairs to get me water, crackers, or whatever else I forgot after I get in bed.

Oh...did I tell you I had my first pre-natal visit? Everything went well...we heard the heartbeat (and by 'we' I mean me and Kel...Jason couldn't leave work early). Doc changed my due date to 12/16, since the baby looked smaller than they liked. My next visit is in a few weeks.

So that's it for now. Just trying to eat lots of small meals, get lots of sleep, and try to think happy thoughts!

7.3 weeks pregnant

Well, things aren't going so well. Right between weeks 6 and 7, I started feeling sick. No barfing just yet, but every day I have nausea, queasiness, and general yuckiness. There are a lot of foods that - just the thought of - make me ill, and there have been a few nights where I went right to bed without eating.

What I've learned so far...preggie pops seem to work, engligh muffins are a good stand by, french fries always are good, and I CAN'T even look at certain foods.

My pants are getting a bit tighter, and wearing a belt is uncomfortable. I haven't gained any weight (yet!) but I'm bloated.

My first doctor appt is tomorrow, including my first ultra sound! Jason is coming if he can get out of work early.

Word about my pregnancy is spreading around, especially at work, and everyone has been SO nice and sweet since they found out (esp Barb Mac).

So stand by...more on my doctor's appointment later!!

5 1/2 weeks pregnant!

Yesterday was the big news for the family...everyone was so excited! Mom cried, as expected, and all 3 bros were very excited to be an uncle.

I still feel great, except that my boobs hurt. No sickness, very little tiredness, and my body feels great. Let's hope all 9 months are just as good!!!

4 weeks, 6 days

So here I am, 4 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I don't feel differently AT ALL! Actually, I have more energy now than I did a few months ago. Weird, I know. The hardest thing has been keeping this huge news from our friends and family. We wanted to tell everyone right away, but decided that it would be best to do it in person. So we have our big announcement scheduled for Easter Sunday. Can't wait!!

Exciting News

WE'RE PREGNANT!!!!! Little Worm is due apx Dec 7, 2007.

We found out this past Tuesday (April 3rd), and have been bursting with the news ever since. How did we find out? I knew you would ask!

It was the late afternoon, and I just got home from work. I'm not sure what prompted me to take a pregnancy test, but my period was a few days late, and I wasn't feeling quite right. I didn't think much of it, since Jason and I weren't officially "trying" yet, but I wanted to be sure one way or another.

So I took an at-home test, and sure enough, 2 pink lines appeared! I couldn't believe it, so I took another test. Yet again, there were those 2 pink lines. I was shocked for a minute, then I started bursting with happiness! The bad news? Jason wasn't home from work yet, so I was celebrating on my own.

Since Jason was on his way home, I thought I'd be creative and find a cute way of telling him he was going to be a Daddy. So I put the test in front of the computer screen (where he ALWAYS goes as soon as he gets home), and waited for him to walk in the door.

He came home, and instead of going into the computer room, he heads straight upstairs and parks himself in front of the tv! So I go upstairs after a few minutes, with the test in my hand, and sit with him for a few minutes. Finally I told him I have a surprise, and handed him the test. At first he looked at it and said, "oh, it looks like you're not pregnant". So I had to tell him to look AGAIN because it was positive! He just looked at me for a few seconds, then said, "you're pregnant??? we're going to have a baby???", and he got a huge smile on his face. We went out to dinner to celebrate, and the rest is history.
